Neither setting sun nor golden sand
Neither jewelry nor currency
Can cloud my fledgling memory
from the joys of a loving man

From a time when I knew naught
From the moment I could see
Beyond all else within my reach
This welcome hand I always sought

No matter how I chose to live
No matter where intentions lied
Despite perpetual retries
This loving man chose to forgive

Dismay and dejection often call
The armor, though battered, still holds
And unsung hero emerges bold
Five-feet-ten and ten feet tall

Few have tried to bond with me
Few have overlooked my sin
Dissolved a hidden guard within
But none are quite so genial as he

Neither mortal star nor lasting martyr
Neither distant future nor recent past
Can ever hope to truly outlast
The power of a loving father

My second submission for :iconleodadominico:'s Kaboom Collaboration - INK Project. This poem, written on my final page (8), is an extension of my short story, The Cliff Edge (written on pages 5-7).

I would ask for feedback, but this is permanently inked on the page in the Kaboom Collaboration INK book, so it is what it is. :hmm: I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Beautiful.
The love of a Father never wavers, no matter how far we run, or how much we try to break it.

After all, can the pencil lay claim to the artwork, or the keyboard hold rights to the poetry?
How then may man declare the workings of God as his own?

Myself, I am but a tool in the greater work of art that is this world of God's.

Thank you kindly. :) You are indeed correct about that.

The girl fell to her knees and cried, "Oh, God, please take me away from this pain!"
And the devil stepped up to her and said, "God cares not for your petty tears."
